FDI Screening – Technology Transfers

All countries use a method to evaluate inbound foreign investment for national security concerns but the process is increasingly politicised in large economic blocks. The EU is becoming more protectionist just as the U.S. succumbed to worries about Chinese technology transfers and trade deficits. We believe if a rising power is cut-off from legitimate means to gain knowledge it will be pushed to use other processes.
