While voter anger is the dominant driver in Italian elections it appears that a majority will shun the populist, but truly different, M5S and Northern League. Thus, we expect a coalition will be created to prevent the populists from gaining power – international and establishment interests are just too entrenched. One wildcard for Prime Minister, if economic change does not materialise, is Mario Draghi.
